Wow, what amazing pieces! It was very very difficult to chose just one, but I think I liked this one [link] the best. It is so whymsical, yet dark. It seems like something you would get out of a fantasy novel or something. I look at it and I start to imagine the storyline that could go with it and all the fantasy characters that would live there. It is beautiful and very well done.
These are all beautiful, but "u204" [link] is my favorite because of the unique composition and beautiful technique applied. While there were many stock pieces and layers to this piece, it feels very fluid and cohesive. The application of shadows, for example, is superb... and the different elements are tied together seamlessly, which creates a very clean and professional look. This is a striking piece that caught my eye even as a thumbnail. Great work, *VigilantViki!
I really loved this piece, I love the context does not is an art,is scene!! is a very exciting one a rescue of love, an artistic nude but it conveys innocence, I can not think of looking at sex.... Although the scene is very realistic, we have technicians in impeccable, with its wings bright, beautiful... and the transparency was very realistic ... that's why this is my favorite, realistic, sweet, virtually error-free technicians! love this!!
Good god, all of these pieces are so wonderful! It is so hard to choose one favorite.
I have to chose [link] because its so very different from the rest of the manipulations. It is very well done, of course, as all of these pieces are, but what makes it stand out to me is the feeling it stirs within me. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul, and looking through these makes me very, very uncomfortable. I feel squirmy just looking at it. That's fantastic, as art that can invoke such a strong feeling -- even such a negative one -- is very successful. It is beautiful in that it is painful and haunting. Very well done!
First of all gratitude for featuring my work!! Honored! Socondy one favorite is definitely hard to choose amongst such great pieces, but I finally chose this one: [link] by the talented I have never seen this artwork before, but I love the fragmental dusty feeling of it! Well done!
I chose "Flying Castle by EmanuelGreatGod" [link] because I know the floating island concept is a challenging manipulation, and can be an even more challenging critique...
A castle on a floating island has, after all, been done before and each time an artist chooses this concept, it gets a pinch more difficult for the next artist to bring anything new to the table. ...And yet this piece had me at hello. Even as a thumbnail, it drew me in immediately and gave the other deviations a run for their money. How come...?
The home run here was choosing Not to align the island with the mainland, but align it, rather, vertically with the frame while 'tipping' the mainland... You might consider this detail to be what Emanuel "brought to the table" in this deviation. The viewers sub consciences is never fully allowed to orientate gravity's pull, never quite given an up and a down to work with. When first I noticed the islands miss alignment, my eyes began a marathon; darting from the castle to the river, the island to the mainland and back again, over and over, trying to get their bearings. ...which gave me ample time to appreciate the quality, technique, and execution of the the piece, despite having "seen it before."
..An A+ in execution, by the way..
Putting a slight twist on a a familiar idea has, over the years, become somewhat of a "right of passage" in the growth of any digital artist. In my opinion EmanuelGreatGod passes with flying castles
Wonderful feature! I really liked some of your picks
My favorite one would be Tide Pool, from ~xetobyte[link] because from the moment I saw it, I thought that hard work was put into creating a wonderful concept that isn't very often seen in dA galleries. I love how the piece has a striking impact when first seen, mainly because of the elements/stocks used, the combination of the tentacles, water and clocks give the image a surreal feel and invites the viewer to think more about the story, to ask questions about the different connections. I also like the way the whole idea is framed by the tentacles, the 'other world'(with the water/sea on the left and the grungy sky. As a side note, this invites me to think about a game, I would really love to play it and find out the character's story and what she has to deal with in it. I think that photomanipulations that don't give off the feel of a photomanipulation, but creates a totally different world/space are the best.
All the featured deviations are incredibly well made and unique, but my favourite is: "Liberation" [link]
I like this one especially due to its simplistic yet thought provoking concept and depth. The essence I find most imploring is the concept of a spiral staircase resting on the ocean's surface, almost enforcing that our life and our world is just a journey amongst the differing dimensions found within our existance - the abyssal oceanic depth transcending through to wherever those stairs may lead.
I like the fact that the mood of this manipulation compliments my feelings above with the painted effect enriching this perspective and consequently makes this piece stand out from your average photomanipulation these days.
I choose the one with the fairies [link] Even if we know it's a photomanipulation (obviously when we see the two humans bodys). we don't "sense" it like a photomanip, more like a drawing. Even for the most beautiful photomanipulations we see very distinctively the different elements; here a fish, here a flower, here a tree, here a moon. But here all the elements work as a real unity (even if a bit less with the bodys) and that's why I choose that picture. Also I like the fearies, who look like the ones in the old believes, often naked with very thin bugs wings. (and not with a cute dress and a wand) A wonderful piece!
[link] I think that the Fire Arrow won my best attention. The colours are amazing, and the Fire is very well handles with the clothes. The background gives you the impression that you are in the woods yourself. In a few words, everything in this image connects with each other in harmony, giving this magical moment. Very beautifull work. Well done to all the featured images.
My favorite piece is the Fire Arrow by =Fick3r[link] Even before this it has been one of my favorites and it will always be. I suggested it for a DD once, but I don't think it was chosen The fire stands out so well against the other colours and the stare adds so much depth to it. It is unique and the mystery surrounding it adds to my interest. I love it as well as all these other wonderful manips.
[link] So far.. this is the piece that captured my attention. The way how everything is blurred so that the angel will be the one people will focus is magnificent. The details weren't forgotten. The smoke coming from her hand holding the halo weren't forgotten too. The "veins" from that hand are beautiful additional details. The setting of the house is wonderful too, the wall beside her, an open window behind, the place being all dark. It gives off a sorrowful aura. By just looking at it, you can feel the sadness of the girl.
I can imagine some plot that happened that led to her in this state. The way how she just holds her halo indicating she doesn't deserve to be an angel. It could be because she did something she considered sinful. Another one I thought could be the reason of this is because she tried to impersonate an angel and finally realized.. she can't be one no matter how she tried or she was punished because she never really deserve to be an angel. And now, in the midst of an old house she's crying, because her dream will never come true.
I think this one is the best, because unlike most of the other photomanipulations, it has a great story behind it, and although the story is a little sad, it doesn't make me feel desperate, in some weird and quirky way it's hopeful.
Ofcourse it's beautifully done, it's magical and when some nude photomanipulations have this erotic undertone that sometimes just doesn't feel appropriate, this one remains to be totally innocent and pure.
For me it has everything I expect a good photomanipulation to have.
